Lisa Pihlstrom

Lisa Pihlstrom assisted me with evaluating and moving my father and stepmother into an assisted living facility. I couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable, thoughtful, or empathetic ally in this process.

We write as the son and brother of ****, age 75, who was stricken with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease (in combination). After not uncommon misdiagnoses he was hospitalized in December, 2023 and required to find a cost-effective placement for care and treatment on short notice. Neither of us lived in Minneapolis, and ****, who had lived alone for the most part, did not have an on-the-scene primary caretaker.

We were referred for assistance by the social work staff at Methodist Hospital to Twin Cities Care where we were assigned to Ms. Lisa Pihlstrom. She was extremely well informed about possible placements, was patient in working kindly from a distance with us, and was doggedly effective in locating a suitable facility and program for **** in difficult circumstances.

We are most grateful to her and recommend her whole heartedly and without hesitation. What she does is not easy, and she does it with efficiency and grace.

I worked with Lisa who is a Memory Care Consultant. She has vast experience, not only of needs of patients but of specific facilities. I found her to be caring and extremely knowledgeable of which place would be the best fit for our mother. She listens and recommends based upon your specific needs. Unfortunately we did not heed her advice and the facility we choose did not work out. I truly wish we had listened and hope you will learn from our experience it would have saved us so much grief. I cannot recommend her higher!

I can’t speak highly enough of Lisa. She truly made a significant different in finding the right place for my father and stepmother. She was instrumental in evaluating both the needs of my father and stepmother as well as the parameters I had in choosing a facility and determining which facility would best meet all of those needs.

Lisa has been a true gift for our family as my mom was suddenly declining and needed a memory facility pronto. She has a good reputation and relationship with the places she suggests for families. She is responsive, professional, friendly, compassionate, and kind. I am so grateful for her services.

I had the best experience with Lisa Pihlstrom at Twin Cities Care. She is very knowledgeable, caring and a great listener. There is no cost to you and she will narrow down your options based on your specific needs and wants. My father needed to be moved to Memory Care recently. Lisa was able to help me remain calm and informed, while helping transition my father in a seamless fashion. My father is thriving in his new community and I am so grateful that Lisa was there for me! Thank you!!!

I can not say enough good things about Lisa Pihlstrom from Twin Cities Care. Lisa showed extreme care, kindness and compassion in helping my elderly dad move from a Rehab nursing home to his new residence at [facility name redacted] into hospice care. She was involved from the conference call, giving advice and her opinions. There were many restrictions due to Covid 19 but she offered to pick him up and transport him to [facility name redacted] so he was not strapped in an ambulance. Lisa suggested that we facetime with me using her phone when they arrived. Lisa even had a practice facetime call with me to avoid any tech problems. My dad a I got to see and speak with each other and for that I will be forever grateful to Lisa. Obviously I highly recommend Lisa and Twin Cities Care if your family is in a situation. I apologize for letting this go for 6 months before I thanked Lisa for all she did for us earlier this year in our time of crisis.

My father had been hospitalized with a minor UTI/fall but could not return to his apartment because he wasn’t strong enough to support himself for basic ADLs. I had to find a place for him and Lisa jumped in and helped me identify some possibilities, and then did much of the legwork to get him into a wonderful solution at [facility name redacted]. Unfortunately, he had a stroke and passed away before the move.

I can’t tell you how much it meant to me at that moment to have help and I wish I had known earlier about Twin Cities Care, which could have meant a big difference long term. Lisa’s ability/willingness to respond so quickly and truly help me find a solution made such a difference. And then when my dad suddenly passed away, she notified [facility name redacted] so they could cancel all their preparation so I didn’t have to.

Lisa listened to my needs to find an assisted living setting for my Mom in a crunch. She efficiently found us multiple sites to tour and accompanied us to help guide and understand our choices. There is no way I could have done this alone with my busy schedule. I just can’t recommend her highly enough. Mom is now relaxed and well supported in a lovely place convenient to me all because we had her insight and help. It was a great experience.
